Sorry to hear about your shoulder Dave, very frustrating I imagine.  I just started cycling here in Quesnel as I don't really like biking in the cold.  We have had a wonderful week and I have managed to get in quite a few rides.  Something I am going to do this summer is the Tour de Jasper with the Prince George Cycling Club.
